Waikiki a Hawaiian Beach   by Hawaii Travel

Hawaii may be the only U.S. state with only one real city (factoring in states that do not, of course), and a few million visitors a year, is the city of Waikiki games.

One thinks of Hawaii and their thoughts usually include a picture of the beach at Waikiki. It is essentially a two-mile stretch of the coast wide and hotels and tourism-related facilities and the very beautiful Kapiolani Park.

Sand and Surf Waikiki seems so far away in the dark, the street scene frantic to seize power, the nuances of the game off and wait for the new discovery at every turn.

The area famous Waikiki was once a playground for Hawaiian royalty, is now the biggest hotel on Oahu and resort area.

Waikiki Beach is usually crowded, but it is a beautiful area for swimming, canoeing, surfing and diving. Areas of Diamond Head in the focus of expansion of the picnic and recreational facilities, including Kapiolani Park.

Best known for its beaches and each part only two or three blocks from the sea, it is more than just the beach. All are beautiful in their own way, and at or near the heart of Waikiki, the great square miles along the shore of Crescent, which includes more than 95 percent of the stations on the island of Oahu.

Even if it’s sunny, there’s a lot of things and under the brilliant blue-green water, from snorkeling to scuba diving swimming with dolphins, a stand-up paddle boarding. You just need to save some ‘of solar energy for a later date.

Just minutes from our base in Kewalo Basin, our ship by divers anchored a few hundred meters from the beach in Waikiki. I was a certified diver for about 20 years, but us are beginners like Brian Wadyka, a pharmacist in Portland that I met by chance on the boat.

The surfboards and swimsuits have shrunk and the forest rose high, but people still come here for the same reasons as always: to enjoy the tropical sunshine, to splash in the waves, and ‘s participation in this unique Waikiki tradition.

Beware of surfboards out of control – which can be dangerous. Ask the lifeguard where the holes are deep. Stay out of the dam and the sea walls, they are slippery and can get crushed and wounded.
